Vladimir Tkashenko is a swimmer who has competed for the Soviet Union. He competed at the 1988 Summer Olympic Games. In the 4x100 metres freestyle relay, the Soviet men handed Tkashenko the anchor duties to chase down the Americans to the front, but he could not catch Matthew Biondi towards the final stretch and settle only for the silver with his 49.52 split and a new European record time of 3:18.33. On the individual side, Tkashenko finished sixth in the 50 metres freestyle race, missing out the podium by 0.17 of a second.
