Vladimir Markelov was a gymnast who competed for the Soviet Union. He competed at the 1976 and 1980 Summer Olympic Games. He received the top six scores in three apparatus events (floor exercise, parallel bars, and rings) at Montreal 1976, but he was ineligible to enter the finals of each because of the two-per-country limitation rule.

Markelov died of natural causes on 30 October 2023, six days after celebrating his sixty-sixth birthday.
