Speed Skating has been featured at every Winter Olympic Games. It has the highest amount of events in the Winter Olympics, with 14 events. Women have been allowed to compete since the 1960 Summer Olympics. Speed skating is part of the Skating program, together with Figure Skating and Short Track.
The Netherlands is the only country to have won over 100 medals in speed skating, with Norway falling behind with 84 medals, and the United States with 68 medals.
