The women's snowboard cross of Snowboarding 2018 during the 2018 Winter Olympics was held on 16 February 2018 in the Phoenix Snow Park. With 26 athletes competing, the event was won by Michela Moioli from Italy, with Julia Pereira de Sousa Mabileau from France taking the silver medal and Eva Samkova from Czech Republic taking bronze.

Format

The competition exists out of a single course of 1277 metres. The competition consists of five different phases, with all competitors setting a time in the qualification. The 12 fastest qualify for the quarterfinals, with the remaining athletes setting a new time for 12 other qualification spots. The quarterfinals, semifinals, and final are head-to-head races between six athletes, with the first three advancing to the next round. The athlete with the fastest time in the final is the winner of the event.

Twenty-six athletes qualified for the event with Michela Moioli as the leader in the world rankings and Eva Samkova as the defending Olympic champion. The delegation of France was very strong with Chloe Trespeuch, Charlotte Bankes, Nelly Moenne Loccoz, and Julia Pereira de Sousa Mabileau in the top 10 of the world rankings. Lindsey Jacobellis was the veteran of the field as the second seed, having won a silver medal back in 2006 and finishing in the top 10 in the next two editions of the event. Other medal contenders and outsiders included Belle Brockhoff, Meryeta Odine, Faye Gulini, and Alexandra Jekova.
