The mixed team of Ski Jumping 2022 during the 2022 Winter Olympics was held on 7 February 2022 in the Zhangjiakou National Ski Jumping Centre. With 10 teams competing, the event was won by the team from Slovenia, with ROC taking the silver medal and Canada taking bronze.

Format[]

The competition exists out of two separate rounds. In the first round, all competitors performed a jump, scored on distance, balance, style, and some other factors. The eight teams with the highest combined scores advance to the second round, in which all eight teams jump again. The team with the highest combined score of the competition round and the final round is the winner of the event.

Preview[]

Ten teams qualified for the inaugural edition of the event with quite a few teams contending for the medals. Austria seemed to be the top seed, but Slovenia had a very strong women's side with the gold and bronze medalists of the individual events. Japan featured the individual Olympic champion on the men's side, but with Poland and Germany also housing Olympic medalists, quality was very high. Norway was the reigning Olympic champion in the men's team event of 2018, while ROC, Czech Republic, Canada, and host nation China completed the field.

Home competitor Peng Qingyue was the youngest athlete to compete after just turning 17 years old three weeks prior to the competition. She was eight months younger than Klara Ulrichova, with Alexandria Loutitt also from 2004. The three lead the thirteen athletes born after 1 January 2000, with Nika Kriznar as the only one of the selection to make her second Olympic appearance. Daniela Iraschko Stolz was the other side of the scale, competing at her third Olympic Games at the age of 38, as one of five female ski jumpers to compete at all editions of the Olympic Games with a women's competition in the sport. Iraschko Stolz was almost two years older than Manuel Fettner, ahead of Kamil Stoch and Roman Koudelka as the athletes born before 1 January 1990. Stoch was the competitor in the field with the most Olympic experience, making his fifth appearance in Beijing, followed by Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes, Koudelka, and Peter Prevc with their fourth. In a field of forty competitors, twenty made their Olympic debuts in 2022.
