Simona Abbate is a water polo player who has competed for Italy. She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
She was one of six players of the Italian women's water polo team to play for the winner of the Champions Cup Recco. In six matches, of which she was featured in the starting line-up three times, she scored five goals, with only Tania di Mario and Giulia Enrica Emmolo scoring more within the Italian team. She scored twice in the group stage match against Great Britain, and once in the group stage matches against Australia and Russia, as well as the first classification round against China. With her three goals from 5 metres shots, she was ranked tied third in the tournament, behind Kate Gynther and Gabriella Szucs.
