Sifan Hassan is a track and field athlete who has competed for the Netherlands.
She competed at the 2016, 2020, and 2024 Summer Olympic Games. She was the first Olympic track and field athlete ever to win medals on three individual events in a single Olympic Games. She claimed two golds and a bronze in the 1500 metres, 5000 metres, and 10000 metres at Tokyo 2020, since Carl Lewis and Heike Drechsler attained such feat in the 100 metres, 200 metres, and long jump in 1988. She was also the first Dutch track and field athlete to win an Olympic gold since Ellen van Langen in 1992, and the second woman to ever win medals in three distance events on the same year since Fanny Blankers-Coen in 1948.
At Paris 2024, Hassan became the first athlete to win medals across three long-distance events in the same edition, including a gold in the marathon, since Emil Zatopek attained such feat on the men's side in 1952.
