Sierra Leone first participated at the Olympic Games in 1968, and has sent athletes to compete in most Summer Olympic Games since then. The nation missed Munich 1972 and also joined the Congolese-led boycott in Montreal 1976. Sierra Leone has never appeared in the Winter Olympic Games.
