Scott Johnson is a gymnast who has competed for the United States. He competed at the 1984 and 1988 Summer Olympic Games.
Johnson's major Olympic success transpired when Los Angeles hosted the Games in 1984. There, he assisted the U.S. men's gymnastics team to win a historic first gold medal before a partisan home crowd, beating the newcomer China and the five-time defending champion Japan. Four years later in Seoul, he returned to his second Olympics as the captain of the fledgling U.S. men's gymnastics team, but he could not replicate his success from Los Angeles, failing to attain a single medal or reach the final in the all-around and apparatus events.
