Sarah Poewe is a swimmer who has competed for South Africa and Germany. She competed at the 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
Poewe started her Olympic career as a member of the South African swimming team in Sydney 2000. There, she trailed her teammate and defending champion Penelope Heyns at the final stretch to take the fourth spot in the 100 metres breaststroke, missing the podium by three tenths of a second (0.3).
Poewe has continued to swim as part of the German team at Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, and London 2012. Though she failed to attain a single medal in any of her breaststroke races, she helped the German women's team of Franziska van Almsick, Antje Buschschulte, and Daniela Götz score a bronze in the 4x100 metres medley relay at her second Games in 2004.
