The 2034 Winter Olympics officially known as the XXVII Olympic Winter Games is a planned major international sports event that is scheduled to be held from February 10-26 in the Salt Lake City Metropolitan Area of Utah in the United States The host region was announced at the 142nd International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Paris, France On 24 July 2024 two days before the start of the 2024 Summer Olympics.
The 2034 Winter Olympics will be the fifth Winter Olympics hosted and the second ever time in Salt Lake City. It will mark the first time in 32 years that Salt Lake City will be a host Olympic City since 2002. This will be the fifth winter olympics (and tenth overall) to be hosted by the United States.

The new IOC bidding process was approved at the 134th IOC Session on June 24, 2019 in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The IOC Executive Board reviewed the bids from all applicant cities on 24 July 2024, and selected Salt lake City, Utah Sapprao (Japan), and Bern (Switzerland) the two candidates withdrew from bidding and The French Alps was chosen earlier as the site for the 2030 Winter Olympics.
Salt Lake City was later selected as the host city for the 2034 Winter Olympics with 83 votes on 24 July 2024, at the 142nd IOC Session in Paris, France
