Olympics Wiki

Sailing at the 2000 Summer Olympics was held from 17 to 30 September 2000 at the Olympic Sailing Shore Base in the Sydney Harbour.

This edition marked the debut of the open skiff class (49er) but the last Olympics to feature the open three-person keelboat (Soling) in the program. Moreover, it also signified a change of the sport name, previously known as yachting.
