Rodrigo Abasolo has competed for Chile

Rodrigo Abasolo is a rower who has competed for Chile. He competed at the 1984 Summer Olympic Games.

He was the coxswain of the Chilean men's eight that competed in the rowing competition in 1984, though competition was fierce, with the 1983 world championships bronze medalists Australia and the fourth-placed of the world championships of 1982 the United States as the opponents in the heats. The quality difference was clear in the race, trailing fast and falling 25 seconds behind the Australian team that finished second. Despite no teams being eliminated in the repechage because of the number of teams in the event, the Chilean team showed some redemption, and they were almost ten seconds faster than in their first race, edging out the French team by a comfortable distance, though still not on the same height as the other three teams in the race. In the only race counting towards the classification, the Chilean team continued their progression and finished faster than in their previous two races once again, though it was not enough to prevent them from finishing last in the race, almost twenty seconds behind the team in sixth place: France.
