Road Cycling is the most watched discipline of the Cycling program, and it is the first event of its program to feature women, who were allowed to compete at the 1984 Summer Olympics.
Italy has won 19 medals in road cycling, followed close behind by France, who have won 18 medals. However, Italy has only won nine gold medals, the same amount as the Netherlands.
