Myanmar first participated at the Olympic Games in 1948 under the former name Burma and has sent athletes to compete in every Summer Olympic Games edition since then, except Montreal 1976. Burmese athletes have never attended any edition of the Winter Olympic Games. Since 1992, the nation has been designated as Myanmar at the Games.
Currently, no athlete from Myanmar has ever won a single Olympic medal.
The Myanmar Olympic Committee was established and duly recognized by the International Olympic Committee in 1947.
