Mozambique first participated at the Olympic Games in 1980 and sent its athletes to compete in every Summer Olympic edition since then. Mozambican athletes have never appeared in any edition of the Winter Olympic Games.
Mozambican athletes have won a total of two medals, a gold and a bronze, at the Summer Olympic Games, both awarded to middle-distance runner Maria Mutola in the women's 800 metres.
