Modern Pentathlon at the 1996 Summer Olympics was held on 30 July 1996 at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center for the swimming phase, Georgia International Horse Park for the equestrian jumping and cross-country running, and Georgia World Congress Center for fencing and shooting.
With the men's team event dropped from the Olympic program, this edition consisted only of the men's individual event, scheduled to happen in a single day instead of a four to six-day period to generate spectator interest.
