Mike Barrowman is a swimmer who has competed for the United States. He competed at the 1988 and 1992 Summer Olympic Games.

Barrowman arrived at his first Olympics in 1988 as one of the world's top breaststrokers. He placed fourth in the 200 metres breaststroke, barely missing the podium by almost a quarter of a second behind Sergio López.

Four years later in Barcelona, Barrowman entered his pet race as the overwhelming favorite for the gold and the reigning world-record holder. Leading from the start, he pulled away from the rest of the field to lower his own world record time (2:10.16) and easily snatch his only individual gold. Earlier in the heats, Barrowman posted the fastest time (2:11.40) to cut off Victor Davis' 1984 Olympic record by almost two seconds.
