Michelle Pearson is a swimmer who has competed for Australia. She competed at the 1980 and 1984 Summer Olympic Games.
Pearson started her Olympic career with a fifth-place feat as a member of the Australian women's 4x100 metres freestyle relay team at Moscow 1980, but she was eliminated from the prelims as a thirteenth-fastest swimmer of the field in the 100 metres freestyle.
Four years later in Los Angeles, Pearson returned to her second Games with an enormous chance of improving her results from Moscow. In the 200 metres individual medley, she pipped her teammate Lisa Curry by 0.83 of a second to snare the bronze with an Australian record time, trailing the American duo of Tracy Caulkins and Nancy Hogshead. She also entered the finals of the sprint-distance freestyle double (100 and 200) but missed another medal by a tenth or more of a second. Pearson closed out her Olympic career by taking the fourth spot with the Australian women's team in the 4x100 metres freestyle relay.
