Judo has been featured at the Olympic Games since the 1964 Summer Olympics, although women have only been allowed to compete since the 1992 Summer Olympics, despite it appearing as a demonstration event four years before.
Japan has won over 30 medals more than France, which has won the second-most medals in judo.
