Jay Mortenson is a swimmer who has competed for the United States. He competed at the 1988 Summer Olympic Games. He swam through the butterfly leg in the heats of the 4x100 metres medley relay before Matthew Biondi replaced him on the U.S. men's team that defended the title for the second straight time in the final. On the individual side, Mortenson placed sixth in the 100 metres butterfly final and landed on the third spot and eleventh overall in the B-final of the 100 metres backstroke.
