Igor Cassina is a gymnast who has competed for Italy. He competed at the 2000, 2004, and 2008 Summer Olympic Games.
At his second Olympics in 2004, Cassina performed a remarkable horizontal bar routine without committing a major error and captured the gold medal over the American favorite Paul Hamm by a tiebreak rule. His successful gold-medal triumph was the five hundredth for the Italians in Summer Olympic history.
Cassina sought his bid for a title defense in the horizontal bar four years later in Beijing but he narrowly missed the podium in the final by two tenths of a point behind Fabian Hambüchen of Germany.
