Hong Kong first participated at the Olympic Games in 1952. It has also competed in several editions of the Winter Olympic Games, the first time being Salt Lake City 2002.

Hong Kong has won a total of 9 medals, of which two in each of cycling, swimming, and table tennis.

The Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China was created in 1950 and recognized in 1951.
