The women's ski cross of Freestyle Skiing 2018 during the 2018 Winter Olympics was held on 22 February 2018 in the Phoenix Snow Park. With 24 athletes competing, the event was won by Kelsey Serwa from Canada, with Brittany Phelan from Canada taking the silver medal and Fanny Smith from Switzerland taking bronze.

Format[]

The competition exists out of a single course of 1370 metres. The competition consists of five different phases, with all competitors setting a time in the qualification. All athletes advance to the eighth finals, with the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final all head-to-head races between three or four athletes, with the first two advancing to the next round. The athlete with the fastest time in the final is the winner of the event.

Twenty-four athletes qualified for the event with a wide open field and plenty of action. Sandra Naeslund was the top seed, with Fanny Smith and defending Olympic champion Marielle Thompson following her. Canada had been very strong in recent years, with the silver medalist of Sochi Kelsey Serwa, Brittany Phelan, and India Sherret within the top 15 of the World Cup. France also had two skiers in the top few, with Marielle Berger Sabbatel and Alizee Baron. Other outsiders included Lisa Andersson and Sami Kennedy-Sim.
