The ladies' singles of Figure Skating 2010 during the 2010 Winter Olympics was held on 23-25 February 2010 in the Pacific Coliseum. With 30 athletes competing, the event was won by Kim Yu-na from South Korea, with Mao Asada from Japan taking the silver medal and Joannie Rochette from Canada taking bronze.
Format[]
The competition exists out of two separate rounds. The first round allows the competitors to perform a routine of around 2:50 minutes, after which the athletes with the twenty-four best scores perform another routine of around 4:00 minutes. The competitor with the best score after two rounds is the winner.

Thirty athletes qualified for the event with Kim Yu-na as reigning world champion, having received over 200 points at the world championships. Behind the Korean favorite, the Japanese skaters were very strong, with Miki Ando having won the bronze medal at the world championships, just in front of Mao Asada, and Akiko Suzuki finishing third in the Grand Prix finals. Joannie Rochette was another big medal contender after receiving the silver medal at the world championships. Other outsiders for the medals were Rachael Flatt, Laura Lepisto, Alena Leonova, and Carolina Kostner.
