Fencing at the 1996 Summer Olympics was held from 20 to 25 July 1996 at the Georgia World Congress Center.
For the first time in Olympic history, female fencers competed in both the individual and team épée tournaments. In all team events, a limit was set on composition as the National Olympic Committees were allowed to send a maximum of three fencers in a team.
