Eric Namesnik was a swimmer who competed for the United States. He competed at the 1992 and 1996 Summer Olympic Games.

Namesnik claimed his first individual medal with a silver in the men's 400 metres individual medley at his first Olympics in 1992, trailing the defending champion Tamás Darnyi by more than a full second. He repeated his runner-up feat in the same race four years later in Atlanta, losing the title this time to his teammate Tom Dolan by 0.35 of a second.

On 7 January 2006, Namesnik was critically injured in a car accident when he attempted to pass another vehicle on an ice-covered road in Pittsfield Township, Michigan. Four days later, he died from the injuries sustained in an accident. He was only 35 years old at the time of his death.
