Elena Davydova is a gymnast who has competed for the Soviet Union. She competed at the 1980 Summer Olympic Games. She attempted to qualify for the Soviet women's gymnastics team at Montreal 1976 but missed the selection at the USSR Cup.
Davydova arrived at her home Olympics in 1980 as a frontrunner for several individual medals. She anchored the Soviet women to successfully defend the team all-around title for the eighth straight time in Olympic history on the rear of her dominant floor exercise routine with a perfect 10. She continued her Olympic success by beating the defending titleholder Nadia Comăneci of Romania for the gold in the all-around final and adding a silver on the balance beam.
Davydova retired from competitive gymnastics in late 1982, citing an ankle injury. She was also named the head judge for the women's floor exercise at Rio de Janeiro 2016, representing her new country Canada.
