Edwin Flack was a track and field athlete and a tennis player who competed for Australia.
He competed at the 1896 Summer Olympic Games. He passed away on 10 January 1935 at the age of 61. He was the first athlete ever to compete for Australia, as well as becoming the nation's first Olympic champion. He competed in the marathon but had to abandon the race, due to the fatigue of the other events he had competed in.
