Danyon Loader is a swimmer who has competed for New Zealand. He competed at the 1992 and 1996 Summer Olympic Games.

Loader arrived at his first Olympics in 1992 as an outsider for the medals. He placed last in the top eight final of the 400 metres freestyle and soon claimed his first individual medal with a silver in the 200 metres butterfly (1:57.93), trailing the winner Mel Stewart by more than a full second.

Atlanta 1996 saw Loader set a historic mark as the first swimmer from New Zealand to win two gold medals in the distance-freestyle double (200 and 400). He also attempted to repeat a podium feat in his pet race from Barcelona but failed to advance from the heats.

Shortly after his second Games, Loader retired from competitive swimming.
