Canoeing was introduced during the 1936 Summer Olympics, but it was held as a demonstration event during the 1924 Summer Olympics. Its program exists out of two disciplines: slalom and sprint.
The letters in front of each event denote which kind of boat is used in the competition; either a canoe (C) or a kayak (K).
Hungary has won the most medals in Canoeing, although Germany has won more gold medals, winning 7 more.
