The Beijing National Aquatics Centre (北京国家游泳中心) in Beijing, China, which is also known as "The Water Cube" and "The Ice Cube" due to its shape and Olympic usage, is a multi-sport venue, which was built in preparation for the Olympic Games of 2008. In 2008, it hosted the aquatics events, divided over diving, swimming, and synchronized swimming, after which the venue was used for swimming competitions and other events. The venue was repurposed in preparation for the Winter Olympic Games in 2022 as part of the Beijing Legacy Program, in which it hosted the curling competitions and became of the first few venues to host the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. Following the Olympic Games of 2022, the venue was used for summer and winter competitions, depending on the season. During the Olympic Games, the stadium had a capacity of 17,000.
