Olympics Wiki

The mixed doubles of Badminton 2024 during the 2024 Summer Olympics was held on 27 July–2 August 2024 in the Porte de La Chapelle Arena. With 16 pairs competing, the event was won by Huang Yaqiong and Zheng Siwei from China, with Jeong Na-eun and Kim Won-ho from South Korea taking the silver medal and Arisa Higashino and Yuta Watanabe from Japan taking bronze.

Format[]

The competition exists out of four groups of three or four in a round-robin format, with each pair playing another once. Matches were played best-of-three games. Each game was played to 21, except that a pair must win by two unless the score reaches 30–29. The top pair in each group advances to the knock-out rounds. The knockout stage was a three-round single elimination tournament with a bronze medal match. The pair to score two sets in the final wins the event.

Preview[]

Sixteen pairs qualified for the event with plenty of medal contenders in the field.
