Antti Aalto is a ski jumper who has competed for Finland. He competed at the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
He competed in all three events of the ski jumping competition in Pyeongchang. In the normal hill event, despite a reasonable qualification, advancing as 42nd out of 50, his first jump in the actual competition was not as good, settling on last place, with over 7 points difference with the next-to-last Eetu Nousiainen. The large hill competition followed the same progression, qualifying for the event as 20th out of 50, but eventually falling short on the 37th place, over 12 points short of the final. In the team competition, the Finnish team and the Olympic Athletes from Russia were in a battle for seventh place, the former falling short. Similarly to his individual competitions, Aalto had a disappointing first jump, scoring the lowest of all teams. He mostly rectified this with his second jump, but was not able to bring Finland to a better result.
Four years later, he returned to the Olympic stage, and once again he performed very well in the qualification round of the normal hill event. With a distance nearing the 100 metres and with a score of 105 points, he qualified with the eighth-best score for the competition round. However, after his result of 2018, he now performed well with the tenth score of the competition round, establishing his position in the top of the field. He also scored well with his second jump, scoring the ninth-best score of the round, though he still lost a few positions in the ranking to finish the competition just outside of the top 10. His qualification in the large hill event started even better with the seventh-best score of the field. Despite high expectations, he only recorded a score of 124.3 in the competition round of the large hill, taking up spot 24 after the round with a lot to catch up on. He compensated a bit with the thirteenth-highest score of the final round but it was just enough to leave him with place 17 after the event.
