Anthony Nesty is a swimmer who has competed for Suriname. He competed at the 1984, 1988, and 1992 Summer Olympic Games. At his second Olympics in 1988, he passed the American swimmer Matthew Biondi by a hundredth of a second to become the country's first-ever champion and the first black swimmer to win the gold medal in the men's 100 metres butterfly. He was selected to carry the Surinamese flag twice during the Seoul 1988 and Beijing 2008 opening ceremony.
