Allison Higson is a swimmer who has competed for Canada. She competed at the 1988 and 1992 Summer Olympic Games.
Higson arrived at her first Olympics in 1988 as the youngest swimmer of the Canadian women's team, aged 15, and a new world-record holder in the 200 metres breaststroke. She entered the final with the fourth-fastest time from the heats. She struggled to catch the favorites toward the front throughout the race and faded to the penultimate spot among the top eight finalists, with Silke Hörner breaking her world record by 0.56 of a second for the gold. A day later, she improved her lifetime best to take the fourth spot in the 100 metres breaststroke, missing the podium by 0.03 of a second behind Hörner. She also recorded the fastest breaststroke split of the field (1:08.15) to capture the bronze medal for the Canadian team of Lori Melien, Jane Kerr, and Andrea Nugent in the 4x100 metres medley relay.
Four years later in Barcelona, Higson shifted her attention to freestyle swimming instead of the usual breaststroke. Although she finished last of the eight teams with the Canadian women in the 4x100 metres freestyle relay, she failed to enter the final rounds in any of her races.
