Aleksandr Ditiatin was a gymnast who competed for the Soviet Union. He competed at the 1976 and 1980 Summer Olympic Games.

After landing on the runner-up spot twice to his teammate Nikolai Andrianov at Montreal 1976, Ditatin emerged as the most successful gymnast and the most decorated athlete at Moscow 1980. He set the record for attaining the most medals of any color at a single Olympiad, winning a total of eight across all men's artistic gymnastics events and equalling such feat with Michael Phelps at Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008. He helped the Soviet men solidify their gold-medal triumph in the team portion of the program amid the absence of the five-time defending champion Japan. He received the first perfect 10 awarded to a male gymnast at the Games on his dominant vault routine to capture the all-around title over the defending champion Andrianov by a fraction. He also claimed his third gold on the rings, a bronze on the floor exercise, and four silver in the remaining apparatus finals (vault, pommel horse, horizontal bar, and parallel bars).

Shortly after the Games, Dityatin was seriously injured during the training, effectively concluding his gymnastics career.

Ditiatin passed away on 14 October 2025, citing an undisclosed cause.
