Akito Watabe is a Nordic combined skier who has competed for Japan. He competed at the 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022 Winter Olympic Games. He was chosen to be the Japanese flag bearer during the opening ceremony of Beijing 2022 with Arisa Go.

His brother Yoshito Watabe competed alongside him in 2014, 2018, and 2022, while his wife Yurie Watabe made her Olympic debut in snowboard in 2018.
