Ai Shibata is a swimmer who has competed for Japan.
She competed at the 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympic Games. She became the first Asian woman to win an Olympic gold in the long-distance swimming, when she placed first in the 800 metres freestyle at Athens 2004.
