Aaron Brown is a track and field athlete who has competed for Canada.
He competed at the 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
At his first Games in 2012, Brown almost entered into the final as the fourth-fastest runner in his semifinal heat, finishing ninth by five hundredths of a second (0.05).
Four years later in Rio de Janeiro, Brown and his teammates appeared to have approached for the medal, slipping off the podium to fourth by 0.02 seconds behind their American rivals with a national record. Moments after the finish, the disqualification of the Americans occurred as the video showed one of their runners exchanging the baton to another outside the lane. As a result, the Canadians received a bronze.
Tokyo 2020 saw Brown improve his outcome in the races from the previous two editions. He opted not to contest the 100 metres dash. Instead, he aimed to upgrade his chances for a possible medal in the 200 metres. Brown's pre-meet prediction transpired as he entered the individual Olympic final for the first time after topping the prelims and semifinals with a season best. Though he finished in sixth place, Brown raced with a photo of his family under his bib. He remarked afterward, "I run for Canada. I run for my fans. But most importantly, I run for my wife and son." He also served as the lead-off sprinter of the Canadian men's 4x100 metres relay team that ended their race with a bronze. His medal was soon upgraded to silver after the British team was disqualified for doping violations.
