Étienne Dagon has competed for Switzerland Étienne Dagon has won 1 bronze medal at the Olympic Games

Étienne Dagon is a swimmer who has competed for Switzerland. He competed at the 1984 and 1988 Summer Olympic Games.

Dagon's major Olympic success transpired at his debut in Los Angeles 1984. There, he challenged the American favorite Richard Schroeder through the midway of the final lap to snatch the bronze with a new Swiss record in the 200 metres breaststroke final, shutting out the podium for the hosts by more than 0.6 of a second. With this feat, he became the first-ever Swiss swimmer to win an individual Olympic medal.

Seoul 1988 turned out to be lackluster for Dagon as he could not recapture his best form from Los Angeles. He was eliminated early from the prelims with a twenty-seventh-fastest time in the 100 metres breaststroke and landed on the thirteenth spot in the B-finals of the 200.
